Otoplasty
Get in touch
Otoplasty surgery is a safe, minimalist approach to prominent ear correction, it is usually performed under local anaesthetic as a day case procedure and takes around 15 minutes per ear.
Otoplasty is suitable for all ears. Whether ear prominence is due to softness of the anti-helical fold (for which an earFold might also be suitable) or to having a deep conchal bowl, an otoplasty procedure can always be used.
Procedure
The procedure for otoplasty is highly versatile. Your surgeon will make a small incision on the back of the ear with any of 4 stitch placements will be used based on what correction is required. The angle of the ear’s anti-helical fold is changed and the conchal bowl is set back.
Aftercare
There will be no bandages required after your surgery as there is minimal swelling. You can expect to make a rapid full recovery returning to normal activity within the next day.
